My name is Anjali Behal and I'm a third year health sciences student at McMaster. Ever since I began my undergraduate degree, I have had a passion for holistic and alternative medicine. Through pursuing a Global Health minor, I'm able to explore several different interdisciplinary courses which help me view healthcare while also considering music, culture, ethics, history and more. I've learned that there is so much more to health and health care than we often think. My interest in alternative approaches to medicine, especially in relation to mental health, led me to Professor Finnerty and the field of Music Therapy. Currently, I am incredibly excited to be working on a collaborative social media project investigating current research on music therapy and mental health as well as how music therapy could be a useful proactive model for maintaining mental well-being.
