Music Therapy, Mental Health, & Self-Care Facilitated by Erin Clark (RP, MTA)

This workshop aims to provide participants with the skills and tools to increase their work within a mental health perspective. Whether you are a Music Therapist or an Allied Health Clinician, this workshop will help to enhance your understanding of the connections between Music and Mental Health.

Facilitated by Erin Clark RP MTA

Erin Clark is a certified Music Therapist and Registered Psychotherapist. She currently works in Senior Care and Inpatient Mental Health at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. She has provided several professional development workshops to mental health teams, through grand rounds and organized events. She is recognized as a supervisor by the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT), and is currently heading up the Mental Health Task Force for the CAMT. Erin is a mother, singer/songwriter, Reiki practitioner and composer of meditation music.  

Workshop Learning Objectives
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize why music is an effective intervention for individuals with various medical and psychological challenges.
  2. Compose a mental health goal.
  3. Become familiar with several self-care techniques including meditation, positive affirmations and gratitude journaling
  4. Learn how to adapt self-care techniques for use with clients.
