Katherine (she/her) is a fourth year nursing student at McMaster University. Music has a special meaning to her as it is not only a form of entertainment, but is also a method of catharsis that helps keep her mental health in check. She recently took the MUSIC 2MT3 course at McMaster and has since been invested in exploring the potential benefits of music therapy in healthcare. In her clinical practice, Katherine has witnessed the power that music has in improving her patients' quality of life and wellbeing. She hopes to help increase the presence of music therapy in healthcare to empower clients and to facilitate the achievement of therapeutic goals. Katherine is currently working on a research project in the field and is grateful for the support from the Music Therapy Academy Mentorship Program!
