Welcome

Welcome

This is a one-hour workshop with Joel Kroeker, DAPsych and author of the book “Jungian Music Psychotherapy: When Psyche Sings”.

Music is everywhere in our lives, both waking and sleeping, inside and out, but much of our musical ecosystem remains unheard and unconscious. Join us as the author offers a rare experiential glimpse into the clarifying process of Jungian psychoanalysis through the lens of musical expression. Participants will learn how to apply psychotherapeutic approaches to add depth to their own music therapy practice. Learn how we unconsciously make meaning from sound by metabolizing our everyday soundscape through our auditory digestive system. Within this experiential investigation we will explore various musical approaches to finding meaning within our human experience including aspects of grief, loss, anxiety, trauma, transitions, pain, and the depressions of life.

“Joel Kroeker's book is a valuable contribution to both music psychotherapy and Jungian psychology...and is the first book to unite the two fields and bring a depth psychology approach to the growing field of music and vocal psychotherapy.“ - Dr. Diane Austin, NYU
